I have what I like to call "severely oily skin". I like to blame my genes for that Nothing I use seemed to combat my oil throughout the day. I have used everyones version of a "matte" or "shine free" foundation, and nothing seemed to work.  Then I discovered Mat Velvet + .

Not only does this go on super smooth, but it covers like a dream. Its more of a medium cover, but could be layered to a full coverage.

I work in a fast pace retail store and constantly moving and this keeps me matte for AT LEAST 6 hours. I end up with a little bit of shine which can easily be patted away with a tissue or oil blotting sheet.

I *DO* set this with a powder on my nose and forehead only. My weapon of choice is Make  Up For Ever Super Matte Loose Powder.

The only downside to these products is the price tag. The foundation is $36 from Sephora, and the found is $28. When used daily, the foundation does last me about 2 months but the price still hurts. I have yet to find an EXACT dupe, but I have tried products that are similar and cheaper. If you're not ready to take the $36 plunge, give these cheaper products a try:

Neutrogena Shine Control $11.99
Clinique Stay Matte $23
Garnier BB Cream for Oily Skin $12

When using mattifying products, you need to be careful not to over mattify. If you take all the oil out of your skin, your body will actually produce more, causing a grease face. To help me with that, I use Cetaphil Oil Control Moisturizer with SPF 30
